Parenting Plans
When two parents already agree on the main parenting terms, a clear written plan can prevent misunderstandings about schedules, holidays, exchanges, and decisions. I represent one parent. I still look at whether the terms and this limited service fit your situation.
A private plan is not a court order
A parenting agreement does not become a court order unless a judge signs it as one. North Carolina courts decide custody based on the child's best interests, and an existing custody order can be changed only through the court. A private plan does not replace an existing order, and I do not promise that a judge will approve one.
Parenting-Plan Review
$500
- Review of one proposed plan of up to 15 pages.
- A 45-minute consultation and written recommendations on schedules, holidays, exchanges, decision-making, and communication.
Parenting-Plan Drafting
$950
- For one ordinary arrangement in which the major terms are already agreed.
- Intake, one tailored draft, a review meeting, and one round of revisions.
Not included, and when this does not fit
- Child support, negotiation with the other parent, court filings, consent orders, changes to an existing order, enforcement, and court appearances. Getting a court order is a separate engagement with its own scope and price.
- This service may not fit if there is an existing order or case, an interstate or international question, a dispute about parentage, a protective order or safety concern, a planned relocation, or real disagreement about custody. I tell you at the start.
I represent only you. The other person should have a lawyer of their own. I do not negotiate with the other person or their lawyer unless we agree on that in writing, at a separate price.
